Empire Aircraft Detailing
Specialized metal polishing for exposed aluminum, exhaust stacks, and prop assemblies using the Nuvite F7/S/G6 system, the industry standard for aviation brightwork. Restores mirror-level shine and removes oxidation. On-site at San Jose International (KSJC), Reid-Hillview (KRHV), Buchanan Field (KCCR), and Bay Area airports.

Our Process
Brightwork polishing is a craft, and the Nuvite metal polish system is the aviation industry standard. We work through the appropriate grades, from F7 for heavier cutting to S and G6 for refining and final finishing, to progressively remove oxidation and refine bare aluminum to a deep, mirror-level shine without damaging the metal.
Our brightwork service covers exposed aluminum panels, spinners, exhaust stacks, prop assemblies, leading-edge trim, and polished accents. Each surface is assessed individually because exhaust residue, heat discoloration, and oxidation each require a different starting grade and technique.
Bare and polished aluminum oxidizes and dulls over time, and exhaust stacks accumulate baked-on carbon and heat staining. Our staged polishing removes this buildup and restores clarity, then finishes with a protective pass to slow re-oxidation between services.
Polished brightwork needs periodic upkeep to stay bright. We build recurring polishing intervals into fleet and maintenance plans so spinners, stacks, and trim stay presentation-ready rather than being restored from scratch each time.

Questions
We use the Nuvite F7/S/G6 system, the aviation industry standard for brightwork, working through the appropriate grades to cut oxidation and refine to a mirror finish safely.
We quote each project individually based on the amount of exposed metal and its condition. Contact us at (510) 398-3156 for an assessment and estimate.
Yes. Full metal restoration uses multiple Nuvite grades to remove heavy oxidation and bring neglected bare aluminum back to a bright, mirror-level finish.
Polished aluminum naturally re-oxidizes over time. With a recurring brightwork refresh, spinners and stacks stay bright continuously rather than needing full restoration each time.
Yes. Empire Aircraft Detailing is Fully Insured with Hangarkeepers coverage, protecting your aircraft throughout every brightwork service.
The San Francisco Bay Area coastal salt air accelerates aluminum oxidation faster than dry inland climates. Aircraft based at airports near the coast, including KSJC, KRHV, KSQL, and KPAO, see their polished surfaces dull more quickly without regular brightwork maintenance. Empire Aircraft Detailing uses the Nuvite system on-site at your hangar to restore and maintain mirror-level shine on every exposed metal surface, keeping your aircraft looking sharp year-round.
In Depth
Brightwork — polished spinners, prop hubs, leading edges, exhaust stacks and unpainted trim — is one of the most striking features on an aircraft and one of the most neglected. Left unattended, bare aluminum oxidizes, dulls and pits, and years of neglect can look permanent. Our metal polishing process works through progressive stages, cutting through oxidation and refining the surface until it returns to a deep, mirror-like shine. On classic and warbird aircraft the effect can be transformative, and on any aircraft it signals a level of care that owners and buyers notice immediately.
Restoring brightwork is only half the job — keeping it bright is the other. Freshly polished aluminum begins to oxidize again almost immediately if it is left unprotected, especially in the Bay Area's marine and coastal air. After polishing, we seal the metal to slow that process and make ongoing maintenance far easier. We can also set up a recurring schedule so brightwork is touched up before it ever has a chance to dull, preserving the result long term. Combined with our exterior detailing, the effect is an aircraft that looks complete from every angle — paint and metal alike presenting at their best on the ramp.
